Titus 2:2

That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

  12. And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
  13. Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
  14. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
  15. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
  16. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
  17. For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
  18. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
  19. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
  20. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
  21. Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
  22. One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
  23. Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
  24. But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
  25. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
  26. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
  27. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
