Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

  3. O LORD, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
  4. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
  5. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
  6. But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
  7. Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
  8. For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
  9. I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.
  10. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
  11. Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
  12. Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
  13. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
  14. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
