Psalms 78:6

That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

  2. Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.
  3. And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with the LORD God of Israel? For the LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
  4. And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.
  5. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
  6. Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.
  7. Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
  8. Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
  9. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
  10. Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
