Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

  6. And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
  7. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
  8. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
  9. But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.
  10. To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
  11. At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.
  12. Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
  13. And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
  14. And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
  15. And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
  16. Pray without ceasing.
  17. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
  18. Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
  19. Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
  20. And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
