Psalms 49:14

Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

  10. They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
  11. They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
  12. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
  13. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
  14. Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
  15. He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
  16. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
  17. I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
  18. But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
  19. But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
  20. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
  21. As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
  22. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
  23. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
