Psalms 28:1

Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

  10. Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
  11. I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
  12. Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
  13. I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
  14. I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength: Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand. Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.
  15. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
  16. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
  17. For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
  18. And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
