Psalms 27:4

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

  8. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
  9. And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
  10. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.
  11. And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
  12. Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
  13. So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.
  14. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
  15. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
  16. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
  17. Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
  18. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
  19. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
  20. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
  21. Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
  22. And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
  23. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
  24. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
  25. Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
  26. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
  27. I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:
  28. But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
  29. And he enquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.
  30. And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
