The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD: And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.

And thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
  12. And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
  13. Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:
  14. I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
  15. That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
  16. Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
  17. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
  18. Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
  19. Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.
  20. Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.
  21. Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.
  22. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
  23. I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors.

  27. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
  28. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
  29. Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
  30. Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
  31. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
  32. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
  33. Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
  34. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
  35. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
  36. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
  37. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
  38. And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.
