Psalms 146:4

His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

  2. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
  3. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
  4. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
  5. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
  6. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
  7. His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
  8. My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.
  9. My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
  10. The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
  11. Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
  12. Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?
  13. The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
  14. But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
  15. But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
  16. All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
