Psalms 14:2

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

  10. For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
  11. Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
  12. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
  13. O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
  14. Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
  15. Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
  16. And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
  17. When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour.
  18. Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
  19. Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?
  20. Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
  21. For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
  22. Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
  23. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
  24. For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
  25. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
  26. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
