There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

  2. Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
  3. In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
  4. And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
  5. Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
  6. Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him alway a light, and to his children.
  7. But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
  8. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
