Proverbs 6:23

For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

  2. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
  3. Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
  4. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
  5. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
  6. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
  7. He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
  8. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
  9. And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
  10. The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
  11. The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
  12. The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
  13. To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
  14. And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
  15. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
  16. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
