My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

  1. Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
  2. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
  3. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
  4. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

  7. He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
  8. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
  9. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
  10. Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
  11. If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
  12. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
  13. And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
  14. That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
  15. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
