Proverbs 19:16

He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

  12. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
  13. But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
  14. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
  15. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
  16. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
  17. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
  18. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
  19. Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
  20. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
  21. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
  22. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
  23. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
