Proverbs 18:1

Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

  9. And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
  10. The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.
  11. He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
  12. Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
  13. I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
  14. He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
  15. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
  16. And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
  17. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
