Proverbs 13:8

The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.

  9. I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.
  10. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
