Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

  4. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
  6. How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
  7. A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
  8. A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
  9. The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
  10. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
  11. By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
  12. And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches;

  14. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
  15. That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
  16. Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
  17. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
  18. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
  19. A just weight and balance are the LORD's: all the weights of the bag are his work.
  20. Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
  21. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
  22. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
  23. His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
  24. The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.
  25. And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
  26. For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
  27. And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
  28. And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
  29. And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
  30. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
  31. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
  32. And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
  33. And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
  34. But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
  35. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
  36. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
  37. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
  38. Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
  39. Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
  40. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
  41. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
  42. Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
  43. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
  44. That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
  45. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
  46. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
  47. One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
  48. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
  49. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
  50. The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
  51. Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
  52. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
  53. And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
  54. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
  55. Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
  56. This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
  57. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
  58. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
  59. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
  60. For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
  61. That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
  62. And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
  63. Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
  64. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
