Matthew 3:2

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

  9. Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;
  10. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
  11. Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
  12. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  13. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
  14. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
  15. Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
  16. The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
  17. He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
  18. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

  23. Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
  24. At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
  25. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
  26. For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
  27. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
  28. The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
  29. But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
  30. Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
  31. For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
  32. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
  33. And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
  34. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
  35. And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
  36. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
  37. I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

  39. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
  40. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
  41. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
  42. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
  43. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
  44. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
  45. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  46. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
  47. When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
  48. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
  49. Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
  50. But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
  51. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
  52. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
  53. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
  54. Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
  55. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
  56. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
  57. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
  58. Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
