And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

  8. And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
  9. Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
  10. Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
  11. For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
  12. And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
  13. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
  14. Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
  15. And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?
  16. Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
  17. But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix' room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.
  18. For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
  19. Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
  20. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
