Matthew 21:15

And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,

  9. When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
  10. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
  11. And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
  12. And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,
  13. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
  14. And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
  15. When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
  16. Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
  17. Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
  18. Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
  19. The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
