Mark 7:7

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

  7. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
  8. And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
  9. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
  10. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
  11. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
  12. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
  13. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
  14. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
  15. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
