Mark 13:6

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

  6. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
  7. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
  8. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
  10. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
