Mark 10:2

And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

  7. The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
  8. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
  9. But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
  10. And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
  11. And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
  12. But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
  13. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
  14. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
  15. And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
  16. And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
  17. And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
  18. The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
  19. Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
  20. Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
  21. Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
  22. And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
  23. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
