Luke 14:11

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

  9. For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
  10. The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
  11. Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.
  12. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
  13. And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
  14. For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
  15. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
  16. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
