When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

  9. But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
  10. And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
  11. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
  12. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
  13. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
  14. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

  18. Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
  19. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
  20. But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
  21. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
