John 7:30

Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

  9. And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
  10. And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
  11. And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
  12. When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
  13. Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come.
  14. Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
  15. And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
  16. I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
  17. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
  18. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
  19. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
  20. Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
  21. Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
