John 3:20

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

  5. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
  6. And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
  7. A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
  8. They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly. Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
  9. Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.
  10. The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
  11. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
  12. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
