Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

  6. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
  7. The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
  8. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
  9. Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
