John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

  7. Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
  8. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
  9. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
  10. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
  11. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
  12. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
