Job 8:3

Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

  7. Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?
  8. Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
  9. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
  10. His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
  11. For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
  12. Therefore hearken unto me ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways. Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
  13. Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just? Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly? How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
  14. Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
  15. Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
  16. Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
  17. Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
  18. The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
  19. Yet ye say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
  20. Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
  21. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
  22. But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
  23. God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
  24. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
  25. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
