So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

  1. The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
  2. But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
  3. But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
  4. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
  5. For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
  6. What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
  7. Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
  8. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
