Job 29:3

When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;

  2. For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
  3. And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

  5. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
  6. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
  7. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
  8. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
  9. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
  10. The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
  11. Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
  12. For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
  13. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
  14. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
  15. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
  16. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
  17. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
