But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee. And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
  6. If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;
  7. And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:
  8. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
  9. He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
  10. O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
  11. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
  12. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
  13. These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
  14. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
  15. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
  16. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
  17. That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
  18. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
  19. From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
