Hosea 7:15

Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.

  6. Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
  7. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
  8. Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
  9. Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry: And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
  10. My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
  11. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
  12. Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
  13. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
  14. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
  15. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
  16. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
