Hebrews 13:14

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

  2. Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

  4. But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
  5. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
  6. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
  7. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
  8. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
  9. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
  10. But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
  11. Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
