Hebrews 10:34

For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

  10. Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
  11. For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
  12. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
  13. For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
  14. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
  15. For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
  16. Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
  17. For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
  18. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
  19. Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
  20. Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
  21. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
  22. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
  23. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
  24. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
