And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

  10. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
  11. Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
  12. Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

  14. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

  20. Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
  21. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
  22. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
  23. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
  24. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
  25. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
  26. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
  27. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
  28. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
