Genesis 13:18

Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

  7. And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.
  8. And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.
  9. And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
  10. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
  11. I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
  12. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
