Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

  1. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
  2. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
  3. How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

  5. For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
  6. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
  7. I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
  8. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
  9. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
  10. Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
  11. This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
  12. And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
  13. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
