Acts 9:36

Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

  10. I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
  11. Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
  12. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
  13. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
  14. And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
  15. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
  16. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
  17. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
  18. And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
  19. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
  20. Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
  21. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
  22. Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
  23. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
