Acts 24:1

And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

  7. I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.
  8. For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
  9. The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
  10. And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
  11. About whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, desiring to have judgment against him.
  12. And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
  13. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
