Acts 16:25

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

  6. O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
  7. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
  8. And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
  9. I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
  10. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
  11. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
  12. I have remembered thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept thy law.
  13. Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
  14. Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
  15. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
  16. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
  17. Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
  18. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
  19. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
  20. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
  21. Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
  22. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
  23. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
  24. As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
  25. Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
  26. Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
  27. Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
  28. Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
  29. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
  30. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
  31. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
  32. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
  33. Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
  34. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
  35. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
