Acts 10:22

And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

  11. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
  12. It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
  13. Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
  14. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
  15. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
  16. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
  17. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
  18. He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
  19. Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
  20. And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
  21. And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
  22. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
  23. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
  24. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
  25. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
  26. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
  27. For by it the elders obtained a good report.
  28. To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
  29. That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
  30. Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.
