2 Timothy 2:16

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

  8. But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
  9. Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
  10. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
  11. Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
  12. Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
  13. Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
  14. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
  15. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
  16. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
  17. And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
