2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

  9. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
  10. Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.
  11. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
  12. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
  13. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
  14. But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

  17. Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
  18. And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
  19. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
  20. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
  21. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
  22. For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
  23. Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
  24. And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
  25. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
  26. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
