2 Samuel 5:7

Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

  9. Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.
  10. And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.
  11. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
  12. Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
  13. Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
  14. Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
  15. The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
  16. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
  17. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
  18. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
  19. As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
  20. But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
  21. And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
