And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

  8. It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
  9. And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying,
  10. Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
  11. The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
  12. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
  13. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
  14. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
  15. And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
  16. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
  17. And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
  18. Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
  19. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
  20. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
  21. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
  22. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
