2 Corinthians 8:10

And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

  8. Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
  9. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
  10. Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
  11. All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

  13. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
  14. I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
  15. It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
  16. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
  17. If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
