And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

  7. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
  8. And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
  9. That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
  10. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  11. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
  12. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
  13. God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
  14. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
  15. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
  16. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
  17. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
  18. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
  19. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
  20. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
  21. Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
  22. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
  23. This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
  24. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
  25. According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
  26. Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
  27. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
  28. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
  29. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
  30. Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
  31. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
  32. Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
  33. As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
  34. That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
  35. For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
  36. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
  37. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
