2 Corinthians 4:9

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

  2. Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole. He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
  3. When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
  4. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
  5. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
  6. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
  7. For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
  8. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

  10. For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
  11. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
  12. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.
  13. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
  14. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
  15. Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
